Join the Davis Steppers!
Classes to learn Soul Line Dancing*, Salsa, and Chicago Stepping*
are beginning in Davis on Sunday, January 29th. These lessons are
sponsored by Davis Special Olympics and are for people of all ages and
abilities.
Meeting Dates, 4th Sunday of each month from 2:00 -- 4:00 p.m.
Time and Place: Davis Senior Center, 7th and A Streets in Davis.
(Jan 29, Feb 26, March 26, April 23, May 21 (one week early),
June 25, July 23, August 27, Sept 24, Oct 22)
Instructor: Lee James, Sr. -- Master instructor, professional DJ,
and president of the National Soul Line Dancing Association and of the
California branch of the Chicago Stepping Association. Lee currently
offers classes and has started dance groups in San Francisco,
Berkeley, Oakland, Fairfield, Stockton, Sacramento, and other
California cities.
Cost of Lessons: $10 per session per individual
$7 for the second person in a family
$5 for each family member after that.
Dress Code: Nice clothes, no jeans.

*Soul Line Dancing involves a dance routine using basic steps, set
to R & B music, hip hop, jazz and disco. The Electric Slide is the
most well known of these dances. Chicago Stepping involves a series of
8 steps that can be done in a line or as a couple. It has its roots in
Chicago clubs but others around the country have added twists to it.
